Nigeria, Taiwan sign MoU on bilateral trade, investments
Nigerian and Taiwanese private sector organisations recently signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Taipei aimed at deepening investment and trade ties. The agreement was between My Exhibition Company Limited of Taiwan and Nigeria’s Hybrid Culture, Technology and Innovation Promotion Initiative, with the support of the Taiwan Turnkey Association and other stakeholders.
The MoU seeks to promote and attract investment in multiple sectors including civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, agriculture and agro-processing, livestock and poultry, aquaculture, oil extraction, wholesale and retail trade, and post-harvest technologies. It also covers the organisation of trade missions, B2B meetings, exhibitions, and investment forums between Taiwan and Nigeria.
Key signatories included Irene Liu (GM, My Exhibition Co. Ltd.), Ambassador David Ademola Adejuwon (President, Hybrid Culture Initiative), and Engr. Damisayo Abiodun Adejuwon (Trustee). The signing was witnessed by Taiwanese and Nigerian officials, including leaders from the Poultry Association of Nigeria and the Nigeria Trade Office in Taiwan.
My Exhibition Co. Ltd., established in 2014, has built a reputation as a premier B2B platform for agribusiness and aquaculture, connecting Taiwanese industries with global markets in partnership with Taiwan’s Ministry of Agriculture and TAITRA. Its parent company, Worldwide Expo Services Ltd (WES Expo), has over 30 years of experience, having facilitated more than 4,000 international trade shows and helping SMEs expand internationally.
The collaboration is further strengthened by support from a wide range of Taiwanese agricultural, aquaculture, livestock, and food industry associations, ranging from organic farming and animal welfare groups to fisheries, poultry, shrimp, tuna, and floriculture organisations.
Overall, the MoU marks a strategic step toward expanding agricultural and industrial cooperation between Nigeria and Taiwan, with emphasis on technology transfer, market access, and cross-border investment opportunities.
